The season of giving thanks and gratitude has arrived and this is a letter intended to do just that!
MaineGeneral Health – The Peter Alfond Prevention & Healthy Living Center has partnered with Colby College to provide a Walking Program for community folks aged 55 and older. The program setting at the Harold Alfond Athletics and Recreation Center is formidable! Walking and talking, making new friends, meeting engaging Colby students, and getting healthy all for free; wow.
We are truly fortunate to have such an amazing facility here in central Maine. The wall of windows allows the outside in and creates a natural setting while rounding the track. The collaboration between MGH and Colby is super. Prior to COVID the indoor walking occurred in the old Colby fieldhouse, and we are incredibly lucky for the return of the program. Thank you.
The volunteers make the program a success and deserve a sincere thank you.
Lastly, a big thank you to the walkers for your participation and efforts to stay healthy in your gray years.
Monday-Thursday, 9-11 a.m. Please bring your sneakers and join us.
