Sean Achorn rebounded a missed shot and converted a putback in midair just before the final buzzer, lifting Messalonskee to a 57-56 win over Lewiston in a boys basketball game Saturday in Lewiston.
Messalonskee (7-2) led 25-10 after one quarter, but Lewiston (5-5) fought back and eventually took a 56-55 lead on a layup by Abdirahman Dakane with about nine seconds remaining. The Blue Devils trailed by 11 entering the fourth quarter.
Achorn paced Messalonskee’s balanced offense with 15 points. Ryan Parent made four 3-pointers on his way to 14 points, and Ty Bernier had three 3-pointers and 13 points.
Dakane scored 21 points and Lonnie Thomas added 12 for Lewiston.
BUCKFIELD 75, FOREST HILLS 54: Krosby Harvey scored 32 points as the Bucks (4-5) won in Jackman.
Gaven Parsons added 14 points.
Blaine Nadeau led the Tigers (5-5) with 18 points and eight rebounds.
GARDINER 60, ERSKINE ACADEMY 35: Trace Moody scored 17 points and had three steals as the Tigers (5-3) won in Gardiner.
Brady Atwater added 13 points.
Gavin Fanjoy led the Eagles (4-5) with 12 points.
MT. BLUE 67, OXFORD HILLS 47: Tyler Abell scored 19 points as the Cougars (6-3) cruised to a win over the Vikings (5-5) in Farmington.
Nolan Leso added 17 points and Carter Norton had 14 for Mt. Blue.
Brayden Murch tallied 15 points and Cameron Pulkkinen 11 for Oxford Hills.
TEMPLE ACADEMY 64, VINALHAVEN 36: Peyton Reckards scored 11 points and added 10 rebounds as the Bereans (1-6) won in Waterville.
Ricardo Louis contributed 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Hunter Hamilton led the Vikings (1-5) with 15 points.
WINSLOW 70, WATERVILLE 51: Braden Rodrigue scored 30 points as the Black Raiders (7-3) rolled past the Purple Panthers (2-6) in Waterville.
Carter Calvo added 15 points.
Derek Couture tallied 23 points for Waterville.
WINTHROP 58, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 25: Braden Branagan and Graham Huri paced a balanced offense with 12 points apiece as the Ramblers (4-4) defeated the Panthers (0-8) in Yarmouth.
Cole Bard added 10 points.
Mansuk Loboka led NYA with eight points.
HALL-DALE 65, SACOPEE VALLEY 47: Keegan Cary scored 19 points, and the Bulldogs (6-2) used a 22-4 surge in the third quarter to get past the Hawks (1-8) in Hiram.
Jaxon Olsen added 12 points, while Matt Waller and Greyson Cary each contributed 10 for Hall-Dale, which opened the second half with 15 straight points after trailing 30-26 at halftime.
Silas Nielsen had 21 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks for the Hawks. Tyler Easterbrooks (nine rebounds) and Bryce Stacey each scored seven points.
MT. ABRAM 84, CARRABEC 55: Brennan Mitchell scored 30 points for the Roadrunners (8-0) in a win over the Cobras (5-2) in Strong.
Bryce Wilcox contributed 15 points.
Jackson Newton tallied 19 points for Carrabec.

BUCKFIELD 42, FOREST HILLS 36: Chloee Bennett scored 15 points as the Bucks (7-1) won in Jackman.
Kianna Finnegan chipped in with eight points.
Kelsey Rancourt led Forest Hills (7-3) with 16 points and five steals.
MESSALONSKEE 44, LEWISTON 37: Chole Michaud scored 12 points and the Eagles (1-8) earned their first win, beating the Blue Devils (1-8) in Oakland.
Bailey Tardif-Mockler had 16 points and Ella Beaudoin 13 for Lewiston.
WINTHROP 46, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 31: The Ramblers (5-3) held the Panthers (4-5) to one point in the fourth quarter to pull away for a win in Winthrop.
Ella Rice scored 13 points for Winthrop, while Kylee Mansir added 11 and Madeline Wagner had 10.
Ella Giguere scored 19 points for NYA, which cut a 12-point halftime deficit to four points entering the final quarter.
WINSLOW 50, WATERVILLE 33: Bailey Richard had 15 points and three steals to lead the Black Raiders (1-8) past the Purple Panthers (0-8) in Winslow.
Emma Fales contributed 14 points and five steals and Kelty Pooler chipped in nine points, six rebounds and three steals for Winslow.
GIRLS HOCKEY
WINSLOW 5, ST. DOMINIC 2: Katie Berard scored four times for Winslow/Gardiner/Cony/Messalonskee/Lawrence/Erskine/Maranacook (5-6) in the win over the Saints (1-7) at the Thomas College Ice Vault in Hallowell.
Leah Michaud added a goal and an assist, while Sophia Sullivan had three assists.
Gabby Allen and Avianna D’Auteuil scored for the Saints.
