Robert R. Wellman

NORRIDGEWOCK – Robert R. Wellman, 76, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 5, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Robert was born on August 3, 1948, in Waterville, born to Russell Wellman and Dorothy Lund and gracefully raised by grandparents Harold and Cora Lund.

He received his education in Oakland and attended Williams High School. He was a woodsman for many years. Towards the end of his working career, he drove a dump truck.

Robert cherished his time. He spent it with his family that meant the most, as well as hunting, fishing, and camping.

He was predeceased by both his parents and grandparents, and his daughter Ann Wellman.

Robert is survived by his wife of  49 years, Shirlene; children, Robert Vigue with his wife Michele of Athens, Tammy Wellman of Skowhegan, Dana Wellman of Skowhegan, and Robert Wellman, Jr. of Norridgewock; stepchildren Peggy Gifford with her husband Roger of Naple, Fla., Kevin Heath with his wife Heather of Nashville, Tenn,, and Missi Burgess with her husband Charles from Skowhegan; many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and many more grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren.

A special thank you to Dr. David Redding and Dr, /Andrew Smith as well as all the nurses and doctors at Maine General Hospital.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the American Legion located at 22 Church St. in Oakland, on Feb. 1, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Burial will be held in the spring.
