FAIRFIELD — Four people were charged this week in connection with drug trafficking in Fairfield, local police said.

David Bardsley, 39, of Pittsfield, Nicole Taylor, 42, of Oakland, and Bryan Daffin, 28 of New York, New York, were arrested Tuesday in a traffic stop on Ohio Hill Road, according to a news release from the Fairfield Police Department.

Officer Jordan Brooks stopped the car around 7:52 p.m. and requested Officer Josh Chouinard from Clinton Police Department assist him along with drug detective dog Hondo, the release said. The search revealed a large amount of cocaine and cash.

The traffic stop led Brooks to 219 Norridgewock Road, where Jessica Alley, 41, of Fairfield, was arrested on a charge of unlawful possession of a scheduled drug following the execution of a search warrant by officers from Fairfield, Waterville and Clinton.

Daffin was arrested on charges of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs while in possession of a firearm, theft by receiving stolen property, and prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Daffin is being held at the Somerset County Jail with a $25,000 cash bail.

Taylor was arrested on a charge of aggravated trafficking of a scheduled drug. She is at Somerset County Jail on a $10,000 cash bail and probation hold.

Bardsley was arrested on a charge of aggravated trafficking of a scheduled drug. He is being held at Somerset County Jail on a $1,000 cash bail.

Daffin, Taylor and Bardsley will appear in court April 14 and Alley will be arraigned April 16 at the Skowhegan District Court.

The news release said the narcotics were tested with TruNarc, a handheld narcotic analyzer acquired by the Fairfield Police Department.
