WATERVILLE — Two men and a woman were arrested last week after police searched an apartment on Kennedy Memorial Drive, seizing illegal drugs and a handgun, officials said.
Another man who was at the apartment at the time of the raid Wednesday and found to have three warrants was also arrested, Maj. Jason Longley, commander of support services for the Waterville Police Department, said in a statement Monday.
“The search warrant and arrests were the result of a monthslong investigation related to the sale of fentanyl and cocaine base in Waterville which affects the quality of life for the residents in the neighborhood,” Longley said.
The apartment building at 43 Kennedy Memorial Drive is across the street from JFK Plaza.
Longley said Waterville police detectives and patrol officers searched the bottom-floor apartment with help from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, which also helped with the investigation. Officials seized 11 grams of fentanyl, 22 grams of cocaine base and a Glock 9 mm pistol.
Three people living at the apartment — Bradford Webb, Katie Danforth and Steve Silcox — were arrested.
Webb, 44, was charged with two counts of Class A aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, fentanyl and cocaine base; one count of Class C illegal possession of a firearm by a prohibited person; and one count of Class B criminal conspiracy, Longley said.
Webb was on probation at the time and his probation officer issued a probation hold for him, with no bail allowed, according to Longley.
Danforth, 35, was charged with two counts of Class A aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs, fentanyl and cocaine base; one count of Class C illegal possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and one count of Class B criminal conspiracy. Longley said.
Danforth also was on probation at the time and a probation hold was placed on her, with no bail allowed. She was found to have 10 warrants for her arrest, Longley said.
Silcox, 32, was charged with two counts of Class A aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, cocaine base and fentanyl; one count of Class C illegal possession of a firearm by a prohibited person; and one count of Class B criminal conspiracy.
A bail commissioner set Silcox’s bail at $50,000 cash, Longley said.
Nicholas Hunter, 46, described as a transient, was at the apartment when it was searched and was arrested on three warrants, Longley said.
All four were taken to the Kennebec County Correctional Facility in Augusta, Longley said.
Hunter and Silcox were unable to post bail.
