RANGELEY — Winterpaloozah! returns Monday, Feb. 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., against the backdrop of the Rangeley Lakes Region’s Haley Pond and the Town Park. The annual festival is an spectacular celebration of winter wonderland activities.
Throughout the day, there will be a host of free activities at the park and on the pond. Ice skating, curling, roasting marshmallows, and bowling with sledding saucers. Downtown, there will be horse-drawn wagon rides, with drop off points throughout town. The rides begin and end near Rangeley Adventure Company, 7 Pond St.

Rangeley Curling Club plays on Haley Pond Wednesdays at 3 p.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m. as weather and ice conditions allow. For those interested in the sport, curling will be one the activities offered Monday, Feb. 17 during Rangeley’s Winterpalooza! (Submitted)
Four competitions will take place throughout the day:
Cardboard Sled Race, 11 a.m.
Buoy Ball, 11:30 a.m.
Firewood Toss Competitions, 12 p.m.
Dog Keg Pull Competition, 1 p.m.
The Cardboard Sled Race will take place between The Rangeley Inn and Classic Provisions. All other competitions will take place at the Town Park. The Dog Keg Pull has a $10 registration fee; all other competitions are free to enter. Donations will be accepted. Registration for all competitions is required. Participants can register at the welcome table outside the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce and Information Center, 6 Park Rd.
Dog sled rides will be available for $40, cash only. Cookies, hot chocolate and handwarmers will be available for purchase.
All proceeds benefit the Rangeley Skating Club and the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce, the event hosts.
