LEWISTON — With events for three days in a row, the Bates Museum of Art is presenting the Across Common Grounds Performance Series, a closing celebration featuring a visiting performance curator and three artists whose works are on view through March 15.

The series is set for Wednesday, March 5, to Friday, March 7, at 75 Russell St.

This focus on art performance and multimedia practices within rural spaces delves into ways artists of various media can break boundaries between aspects of dance, music, video, visual art mediums and site by highlighting the multi-faceted and innovative works featured at the museum.

All events are free and open to the public, with light refreshments provided.

Visitors and performers are as follows:

• Cynthia Post Hunt — based in Northwest Arkansas — is invested in the research and presentation of live art through her work as the curator of performance at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art & the Momentary and the co-founder of INVERSE Performance Art Festival.

• Harlan Crichton, a Maine-based photographer, injects his personal surroundings, interest in folk histories, and road-trip pilgrimages into his various photographic light experiments.

• Tristan Koepke is an assistant professor of dance at Bates whose work explores slowness as a means to complicate and alter speculative masculinities.

• Shey ‘Ri Acu’ Rivera Ríos, from Puerto Rico and living in Rhode Island, uses interdisciplinary works to connect communities suffering from the impacts of overarching colonial and capitalist narratives by drawing in aspects of home and belonging.
