FARMINGTON — A flute and piano concert with the Marvento Duo is set for 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 9, in the Nordica Auditorium at the University of Maine at Farmington, 246 Main St.
Boston-based flutist Weronika Balewski and pianist Elizabeth Basconi founded Marvento Duo in 2013 to collaborate as both performers and teaching artists.
They will be playing music from the classical and romantic periods as well as from the 20th and 21st centuries and a little bit of tango music.
Some refreshments will be served after the concert. Doors will open at 1:30 pm.
Admission is $20, but no one is turned away. The event is free for UMF students and youth 18 and younger.
The auditorium is accessible. The entrance door to Nordica Auditorium is located on Academy Street at the back side of Merrill Hall.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
