LEWISTON — Maine’s Got Talent, presented by Maine Community Bank, is set to hold three open auditions for Maine-based singers, bands and musicians of all kinds interested in a chance to be selected as one of eight performers to compete for cash prizes Saturday, May 3, at the Franco Center, 46 Cedar St.
Auditions are scheduled for:
• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Portland Media Center, 516 Congress St., Portland.
• 9-11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at Penobscot Theatre, 131 Main St., Bangor.
• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at Community Little Theater, 30 Academy St., Auburn.
Auditions aim to secure eight musical performers and two alternates who will compete for $750, $500 and $250 during the 11th annual Maine’s Got Talent, the annual fundraising event for Andwell Health Partners’ pediatric programs and services.
Past musicians have ranged from eight-person house bands and solo acoustic singer-songwriters to large-scale collegiate a cappella groups and teen singers with ambition.
These auditions are open to all performing artists 16 years of age or older who live in Maine, including out-of-state students attending Maine schools. Auditions are first come, first served. Bands should bring light set-up, and vocalists should bring a soundtrack.
