The NBA G League named Maine Celtics guard JD Davison as its most valuable player on Wednesday.
Davison is the second player in franchise history to earn the award, following Tim Frazier, who achieved the honor in the 2014-15 season.
Davison finished the regular season averaging 25.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game while playing in 30 games for the Celtics. He also made a league-leading 277 field goals on 576 attempts (48.1 percent).
Davison scored 30 or more points in 15 games, and recorded 13 double-doubles and two triple-doubles. His 754 regular-season points ranked third, and his 223 assists tied for third most in the league.
