
Carole A. (Leonard) Olum
FARMINGDALE – Carole A. (Leonard) Olum, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 26, 2025 surrounded by her loving daughters.
She was born March 26, 1943 in Augusta, the daughter of the late Russell and Florence (Weeks) Leonard. Carole graduated from Cony High School in 1961 and Augusta Business (Gates) in 1962. She went to work for John C. Bush Insurance.
In 1965, she married Richard B. “Tiger” Olum and in 1967, she gave up working to be a fulltime wife and mother. Over the years, she took care of many children and in 1990 became a registered home day care until she retired in 2000.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, bowling, pickleball, and travelling but, most of all being with her family. She and Tiger were members of various snowmobile clubs. In 2000, they bought a mobile home in New Port Richey, Fla. and wintered there for 20 years until Richard’s passing in 2020.
Carole was predeceased by her husband; and a granddaughter, Vanessa Buck.
She is survived by two daughters, Laurie Pearson and her husband, Mark of Sidney and Brenda Buck of Farmingdale, a stepson, Jeffrey Olum and his wife, Julie of Augusta; six grandchildren, Gregory Pearson, Cody Pearson, Kristina Crocker, Spencer Buck, Brooke Olum and Nicholas Olum; five great-grandchildren, Zephryn Pearson, Zayden Pearson, Lincoln Buck, Lorelai Buck and Annie Crocker; her sister, Barbara Harris and her husband, Dale of Dixfield, sister-in-law, Arlene Harris of Lisbon Falls; three nephews and one niece.
Relatives and friends may visit from on Friday, May 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta where a memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial and committal prayers will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Western Ave., Manchester.
