CORNVILLE — A 79-year-old woman was injured in a crash on Route 150 in Cornville Thursday, according to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 2 p.m., Judith Andrews, of Cornville, was making a left turn in a Kia SUV out of driveway off the highway to head north when she collided nearly head-on with a southbound GMC pickup truck, Chief Deputy Mike Mitchell said.
Andrews’ injuries, including possible broken bones, led her to be taken via ambulance to Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan, Mitchell said.
The driver of the pickup truck — Andrew Jackson, 24, who has Athens and Skowhegan addresses — did not need to be taken to the hospital, Mitchell said.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, Mitchell said. Neither had passengers.
Deputy Andrew Bowman is the primary investigator; Mitchell said no criminal charges were expected as of Thursday.
The Cornville and Skowhegan fire departments also responded to the crash, Mitchell said.
