Nathan Messer scored the tying goal in the 35th minute, and Portland Hearts of Pine played to another draw on the road Saturday night, 1-1 against Forward Madison FC in a USL League One game in Wisconsin.
Messer executed a give-and-go with Ollie Wright, slamming a low shot into the right corner from just outside the penalty area.
Madison took the lead in the seventh minute when Devin Boyce converted a penalty kick.
Portland had an 8-6 edge in total shots and a 4-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Hearts of Pine are 1-1-5 through seven league games, with four of their five ties on the road. Up next for Portland is a home game at Fitzpatrick Stadium against Detroit City FC at 5 p.m. next Saturday (May 31).
