Robert “Bob” Norman Belanger
AUGUSTA – Robert “Bob” Norman Belanger, 79, passed away Aug. 1, 2025, at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. He was born on Feb. 4, 1946, the only child of Leonce and Arline (Laflamme) Belanger.
Bob grew up in Augusta and attended St. Augustine in 1960 and graduated from Cony High School in the class of 1964.
Following High School, Bob enlisted in the United States Army, serving for four years before joining the Air National Guard, at Camp Keys, ultimately retiring as a Chief Master Sargent.
On July 18, 1970, he married Doris Beaulieu and the two made their home in Augusta.
Was a member of the Calumet and Elks Club, played softball in many club teams and played in Calumet golf league.
Bob enjoyed spending time at camp, particularly having family and friends over, putting on lobster feeds and listening to his favorite music dancing whenever he could. He loved playing cards games like Cribbage and screw your neighbor with family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his wife, Doris Belanger in 2021.
He is survived by his son, Paul Belanger; daughter in law Esperanza; grandchildren: Alexander, Marc, and Elisa; and many in laws.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, from 5-7 p.m., at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, August 13, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 75 Northern Ave., Augusta. Burial will follow at 12 p.m., noon, at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Section B, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta, ME 04330.
