A two-run triple by Brendan Jones capped a three-run first inning for the Somerset Patriots, and Jake Gatewood and Tyler Hardman each homered in an 8-5 win Saturday night against the Portland Sea Dogs at Hadlock Field.
The Sea Dogs fell behind 6-1, then fought back to within 6-5 before Hardman belted a two-run homer in the ninth.
Tyler Miller led Portland’s 16-hit attack with a double and three singles. Allan Castro and Miguel Bleis added three hits apiece, but the Sea Dogs left 13 runners on base and committed four errors.
