David L. Vincent
BINGHAM – Another Angel Has Joined God in Heaven. David L. Vincent, 89, of Bingham, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
He was born on March 2, 1936, in Dexter, Maine, the son of Peter J. Vincent and Edna Vigue Vincent. He grew up in Dexter, where he completed his primary education, and later graduated from Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine. David went on to earn his Associate’s degree in Boston, Mass., and later his Bachelor of Science from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fla. While attending Florida Southern, David met the love of his life, Linda R. Reiman of Sarasota, Fla. The two were married on Dec. 7, 1958, and recently celebrated 66 years of marriage.
David developed a strong work ethic early on while helping at his father’s IGA store in Dexter. This dedication carried into his career with Merck Pharmaceuticals, where he worked for 37 years, retiring as a Senior Professional Representative.
He also served honorably as a Specialist in the U.S. Army Reserves and was an active member of many community organizations. He belonged to the Lion’s Club of Buxton/Hollis, served as President of the Baker Mountain Ski Club, was co-chairman of the Bingham Area Fly-In, and was a longtime member of the Bingham Area Chamber of Commerce.
David enjoyed a life full of adventure. He was an avid bird hunter and fisherman, passions he loved sharing with his children and uncles. He held his private pilot’s license since 1959 and found great joy in flying his Cessna 172 floatplane from his base on the Kennebec River. He also loved snowmobiling with his family in the local hills.
With Linda by his side, he traveled to all four continents and 36 states, enjoyed extensive travel abroad, and spent 35 years wintering in the Algarve, Portugal.
Above all, David loved his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda R. Vincent, of Solon; children Andrea L. Nadeau (Blyn Nadeau) of Madison, and Stephen A. Vincent (Miranda Kessel) of Bingham; grandchildren Whitney B. Vincent (Joseph Balzanelli) of Auburn, Sydney P. Vincent of Skowhegan, Alyssa V. Landry (Christopher Wallace) of Norridgewock, and Amanda Landry (Nick Chambers) of Madison. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Benson G. Wallace, Thomas M. Nadeau; his brother-in-law Timothy A. Reiman of Indiana; and his nephew Dr. Peter Badger of Tallahassee, Fla.
He was predeceased by his parents, his stepfather George A. Gerry, and his sister Vonetta Badger.
David will be remembered for his deep love of family, his adventurous spirit, and his unwavering commitment to his community.
