Chris Lang completed 24 of 35 passes for 304 yards and a touchdown, and the University of New England held on for a 38-28 football win over Husson on Saturday in Biddeford.

Damien Jones rushed for 78 yards on 19 carries and scored twice as UNE improved to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the Conference of New England.

For Husson (2-5, 1-3), Max Clark was 31 of 50 for 404 yards and three TDs. Jacob Lenz had 10 catches for 139 yards.

The Nor’easters jumped ahead on Lang’s 33-yard pass to Cameron Cornett less than three minutes in, but the Eagles responded with two second-quarter scores. Clark rushed in from 1 yard, then connected with Lenz for a 39-yard score with 1:53 left in the half. 

Jones scored from 18 yards out with 43 seconds left in the half to tie the game. UNE got three short rushing touchdowns in the third quarter (Jones, Nathan Delgado and Lang) for a 35-21 lead heading into the fourth.

Clark threw TD passes to Dominic Trott and Imari Montgomery in the second half.

COLBY 17, HAMILTON 10: The Mules (4-3) stopped Hamilton on downs inside the 20 in the final two minutes and held on to beat the Continentals (1-6) at Waterville.

Colby quarterback Patrick Miller completed 12 of 19 passes for 78 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 119 yards on 15 carries.

Colby took a 14-7 lead into halftime when Antone Moreis scored on a 15-yard run with 1:53 left. Miller’s 13-yard pass to Jack Nye gave the Mules a 7-0 lead before Hamilton tied it on a 4-yard run from Luke Kurzum.

The teams traded field goals in the second half.

TRINITY 45, BOWDOIN 3: Trinity (6-1) outgained Bowdoin (1-6) by a margin of 441-162 and rolled to a win at Brunswick.

The Bantams led 28-3 at the half on Tyler DiNapoli’s 21-yard run, Bryce Ferrell’s recovery and 5-yard return of Shane Mosia’s blocked punt, Nolan O’Brien’s 1-yard plunge, and Jaxson Carroll’s 7-yard pass to Nick Behrens. Bowdoin got a 27-yard field goal from Caden Perry.

MIDDLEBURY 34, BATES 16: Brian Moran was 20 of 30 passing for 222 yards, Connor McLellan rushed for 121 yards on 31 carries, and the Panthers (3-4) pulled away from the Bobcats (2-5) at Middlebury, Vermont.

Jack Perry was 14 of 28 for 243 yards and one touchdown with three interceptions for Bates, while Jeff Vidou made three catches for 115 yards.

Bates scored early on Michael Seward’s 3-yard run, and Marcos Ruiz hit a 24-yard field goal to pull the Bobcats within 14-10 at the half.

NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE 14, MAINE MARITIME ACADEMY 10: Aidan McDonald scored on an 8-yard run with 3:32 left as the Pilgrims (1-6, 1-3 CNE) slipped past the Mariners (0-7, 0-4) in Henniker, New Hampshire.

The Pilgrims opened the scoring with 3:39 left in the first quarter on a 31-yard run from Icean Taylor (20 rushes, 110 yards), before the Mariners took a 10-7 lead into halftime, thanks to a 20-yard field goal by Aiden Sullivan and a 98-yard touchdown run from Auston Harris.
