Tree lighting & Chester Greenwood Day
A tree lighting ceremony is planned at 5 p.m. Friday at Franklin County Superior Court, 140 Main St., Farmington.
The following Chester Greenwood Day activities are planned for all day Saturday:.
Henderson Memorial Baptist Church is set to host a cookie walk and white elephant table from 9 a.m. to noon. Craft fairs are planned from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Farmington American Legion and at the UMF Student Center, 111 South St.
Open houses and a wreath sale are planned from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Titcomb House, High Street, and the Octogon House, 126 High St.
The Rotary’s Festival of Trees is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the former Family Dollar building where the annual Great Gingerbread Contest will take place. The live auction will begin at 6 p.m.
Board Games on Parade is set for 11 a.m. with a 10 a.m. line-up at Mallet School. Registration is required and there will be prizes. Other festivities include horse-drawn carriage rides, Taste of Farmington, a polar bear dip and more.

Gardiner
Festival of Trees
Johnson Hall Opera House plans to host Festival of Trees from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at 280 Water St., Gardiner.
The opera house plans to continue a holiday tradition — buy a few tickets, bid on the favorites and admire the newly renovated venue.

Richmond
Tree Lighting
A Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration is set for Friday at Richmond Waterfront Park on Ferry Road.
Santa plans to arrive at 5 p.m. and those who attend can enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride by Seavey Farm from 5-7 p.m.

Skowhegan
Festival of Trees
The Skowhegan Regional Chamber of Commerce plans to host its annual Festival of Trees frm Thusday through Sunday at T & B’s Celebration Center, 414 Madison Ave., Skowhegan.
Festival hours are set for noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Those who attend can stroll through a winter wonderland featuring dozens of beautifully decorated trees donated by local businesses and organizations. Tickets can be purchased to place in a box near a tree you wish to win.

Skow-Whoville!
The annual festival is set to start Friday with a couple free movie showings at Spotlight Cinemas at The Strand and the annual Skow-Whoville Parade at 6:30 p.m. convening at the District Court parking lot and traveling through downtown Skowhegan.
Saturday events will kickoff with breakfast with Santa. Breakfast will cost $7 for adults and $5 for children younger than 12. The Holiday Craft Fair is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Skowhegan Community Center, 39 Poulin Drive.
The annual Christmas Tree Decorating Contest is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Redington Memorial Home, 11 North Ave. Vote for your favorite Christmas tree decorated by local businesses.
Additional movies will be screened for free at 10:30 a.m. at Spotlight Cinemas at The Strand. Santa Claus story time is planned at 10:30 a.m. at Skowhegan Free Public Library, 9 Elm St.
The Skow-Whoville Stroll will feature Grinch-themed family activities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. throughout downtown.
Saturday festivities will wrap up with the Skow-WhoCrawl for those 21-plus.

Winslow
Christmas Carols in the Round
The Mt. View Chamber Singers plan to perform Christmas Carols in the Round at 6 p.m. Thursday at Winslow Congregational Church, 12 Lithgow St., Winslow.
The singers from Mt. View High School in Thorndike are set to present a candlelit, a capella presentation of this 34th annual touring concert, directed by Gregory Judd. Among the memorable carols presented will be classic, timeless standards as well as lesser-known but equally lovely songs and hymns.
Admission is free, with donations to help defray the singers’ touring expenses accepted.

Holiday Parade
