Katherine E. (Johnson) Bouchard
WEST GARDINER – Katherine E. (Johnson) Bouchard, 73, of West Gardiner passed in the early morning of Jan. 29, 2026, our Mom, Mimi, Gram, Partner, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Friend, Niece, Cousin crossed on to her next journey into the arms of her Saviour, with her steadfast Gordy by her side continuing to provide her with every reassurance of her safety and how much she was loved.
She was born June 21, 1952, survived by her life partner Gordon Bouchard, son Shawn Bouchard and daughter Shelley and Wayne Hickey, her mother Anne Johnson, brothers Lee and Rick and Wanda Johnson, brother-in-law Conrad and Debra Bouchard, sister-in-law Priscilla Bouchard, and her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many other family members related and nonrelated whom she loved so much. She was predeceased by her father, Ted Johnson, brother-in-law Bob Bouchard, mother and father-in-law Bush and Pat Bouchard.
Kathy was a caring and generous person always providing and looking out for others, whether it be a rotisserie chicken delivery, a donut, snacks for the animals, toys and clothes for kids, she was always thinking of others. She was in her glory with the babies and kids, always bringing a basket of toys to every function. We were fortunate to enjoy some amazing adventures and vacations that created lasting lifetime memories. She would never fail to provide the props that instigated heated competitions: who could fly their kite the highest, badminton volleying by the pool, Mad Libs, charades, lawn games, frisbee velcro ball, Her family was her greatest joy and getting together made her the happiest. Garage and yard parties were celebratory and meaningful events.
She faced many medical challenges throughout her life and exhibited amazing courage, tolerance and endurance. She was an absolute warrior; honest (brutally at times), courageous, silly, sarcastic, opinionated, and very much “what you see is what you get.”
She grumbled, but was really in her element when she was delivering mail for the U.S. Postal Service. She loved scratch tickets, occasional slot machines, good food, playing cards, spending time at camp, boat rides, picnics, feeding the birds, and running errands.
You are invited to join the family for visiting hours from 1-3 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, at Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
