The Portland Hearts of Pine played to a 0-0 draw against AV Alta on Saturday night in Lancaster, California.
This was the fourth all-time matchup between the two franchises and the third to end in a stalemate. AV Alta has the lone win in the series, a 2-0 victory at home on July 2, 2025. They played to a 1-1 draw June 21, 2025 in Portland and a 2-2 tie in Lancaster, California on Oct. 25, 2025.
Neither team was able to generate much offense on Saturday. Portland had just six shot attempts, two on goal. AV Atla had 21 shot attempts, but managed to put just three on goal.
Portland played much of the second half a man-down after Mikey Lopez was given a red card in the 58th minute.
Portland is now 1-0-1 in league play. The Hearts of Pine won their season opener 3-1 win over the New York Cosmos on March 14. They lost to Vermont Green FC of USL League Two 1-0 on March 17 in a U.S. Open Cup game.
The Hearts of Pine play the Sarasota Paradise at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Their first home game of the season is scheduled for April 11 against One Knoxville SC.
