Nate Baez hit a three-run home run and Franklin Arias continued his torrid start with three hits to lead the Portland Sea Dogs to a 5-2 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in an Eastern League game Friday at Hadlock Field in Portland.
New Hampshire took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI double by Sean Keys and a sacrifice fly by Geovanny Planchart. Arias helped start Portland’s rally in the third with a one-out double to put runners on second third, before Baez went deep.
Portland, which earned its second straight win, tacked on a pair of runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Ahbram Liendo and an RBI single by Arias.
Arias, the Boston Red Sox’s second-rated prospect, is 7 for 13 (.538) in five games for Portland (3-3).
