Wyllum Deveaux scored late in the second period and Luke Cavallin stopped 26 shots to lift the Maine Mariners to a 2-1 win and a three-game sweep of the Norfolk Admirals on Sunday at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.
Maine took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a power-play goal by Max Andreev. Norfolk tied it when Grant Hebert scored early in the second period.
Jacob Perrault, Brooklyn Kalmikov, Linus Hemstrom and Sebastian Vidmar each had an assist for the Mariners.
Also Sunday, the Mariners signed defenseman Dylan MacKinnon to an amateur tryout contract.
MacKinnon, a 21-year-old, 6-foot-2, 200-pound defenseman, was a 2023 draft pick of the Nashville Predators. He was unsigned by Nashville and invited to the Boston Bruins rookie camp this fall.
MacKinnon recently finished his junior career in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League. Playing this season for the Charlotte Islanders, he played 45 games and finished with a goal and 11 assists.
