Jon P. Lambert

FARMINGDALE – Jon P. Lambert, 71, of Farmingdale, passed away suddenly on April 11, 2026, after a fall at his home.

Jon was born on Oct. 13, 1954, in Presque Isle, to Don and Lucille (DeLosier) Lambert. He graduated from Hall-Dale High School in 1974.

He is survived by his sister, Dawn Real, and nephew Tucker of Farmingdale; two brothers, Allen Lambert (with nephew Kirk and niece Anne) of Perham, and Tim Lambert of Cross Lake; and his niece Jodi Meader (Lawrence, Lilli and Becca) of Farmingdale. He is also survived by his special friend, Nancy Beaudry, and by his wonderful lifelong neighbors, especially Marianne and Greg.

Jon was predeceased by his parents, Don and Lucille; his brother, Robin; his niece, Shawna; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A special shout out goes to his morning coffee groups at Bolley’s, Hi-Hat, and Dave’s Diner, where he found daily camaraderie and friendship.

Jon will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, generosity, and his willingness to go out of his way to help his family and community. After high school, he worked briefly for the State of Maine before becoming a deputy sheriff. He later transitioned to a long and varied career in transportation – working as a truck driver with his truck, the “Lil Jon,” driving buses for Ray Sawtelle Bus Service, and eventually serving as a supervisor at John T. Cyr and Sons Bus Service. Jon spent many summers driving bus for Camp Laurel transporting the counselors and campers on many adventures. Jon dedicated more than 30 years to the industry, earning the respect of coworkers who described him as a great boss.

Jon moved to Farmingdale at age six and embraced the community wholeheartedly. Fondly known as “Jon L.,” he served as a school board member for RSU 2 and was a part owner of Central Maine Pyrotechnics, providing fireworks for more than 35 years – most notably for Old Hallowell Day and Camp Laurel in Mount Vernon. He also helped organize Old Hallowell Day activities, especially the cribbage tournament with Alice Buck.

A celebration of Jon’s life will be held on Saturday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Maple Hill Farm in Hallowell.
