John Shostak
AUGUSTA – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Shostak. A man of boundless energy and intelligence.
John was born on Feb. 5, 1952, and transitioned out of this life on April 13, 2026, at his home with his wife by his side.
Through his journey he touched many lives with his wisdom, humor and an unwavering spirit of perseverance. His professional career was in construction but nature was always calling.
John was a dedicated sportsman who found peace in the great outdoors. He spent his finest hours on the water, an avid hunter he was happiest in the woods. John was a simple rugged man.
He leaves behind his wife Judy Shostak; his stepson Zachary Maurice and wife Dr. Chelsea Pomeroy; stepdaughter Chelsea and husband Ben Card. He also leaves behind his two grandsons, Mason and Sam
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 from 2-6 p.m., at the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine in Augusta. We invite all who knew him and loved John to join us in honoring his memory and share stories.
It’s hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember.
Death is the last chapter in time, but the first chapter in eternity.
