Beatrice Marie Porter
AUGUSTA – Beatrice Marie Porter, 88, returned to her heavenly home on April 11, 2026, after battling many longterm illnesses, surrounded by her family at her home. We will miss her kindness, gentleness and fierce protection. She was known as “Bea”, Mom, “Sitto” and “Queen Bea”. Her reasons for living were family, faith and food. She valued time with family and loved traditions.
Born on Oct. 14, 1937, in Waterville to the late Chicory and Hazel George Williams, she grew up in the Lebanese community of Waterville in the Head of Falls neighborhood. She attended St Joseph Maronite Church and school.
She met Clifford Porter and they married on Oct. 3, 1959. They joined St Mary Catholic Church in 1962. They raised four wonderful children and shared 66 years of wedded bliss.
She was predeceased by her parents; and siblings, Barbara, Brenda and Brent; and a niece, Patrice.
She is survived by her loving husband Clifford; children, Theresa (Esko), Greg (Lisa), Lisa and Ann; grandchildren, Marja-Liisa, (Matt), Erik, (Devi), Kristiina; Autumn, Ashley, Amanda and Kody; two great-grandsons, Oliver and Alexander; a son-in-law, Lee; a brother-in-law, Arthur, sisters-in-law Lea, Alice and Maxine; a special niece, Cherry; and many relatives and friends.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday April 25, at 10 a.m., at St Mary Catholic Church in Augusta with a celebration of life to follow in the St. Michael School auditorium both located on Western Avenue in Augusta.
Special thanks to Maine General Hospice Care for taking good care of Mom through the end of her life.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Mom’s two favorite charities; St Jude Children’s Hospital or St Michael Catholic School.
