Claude J. Loubier
AUGUSTA – Claude J. Loubier, 89, died Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, following a long illness. He was born in St. Prosper, Quebec, Canada on Aug. 2, 1936, a son of the late Joseph and Albertine (Rodrigue) Loubier.
Mr. Loubier attended schools in Canada and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Augusta.
He had been employed for many years at Frank X. Pomerleau Home Furnishings. He had previously worked for the Augusta Public Works, Statler Tissue and Bates Mfg. – Edwards Division.
Mr. Loubier was a life member of Le Club Calumet.
He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline C. (Nadeau) Loubier; and four siblings, Marielle Bourque, Clermont Loubier, Guay Loubier and Normande Redmond.
Mr. Loubier is survived by his children, Claudette D. Coyne of Hallowell and Paul E. Loubier and his wife Vicki of South China; a sister, Gervaise Auclair of St. Marie Quebec; grandchildren, Allison Lajoie-Sanborn of Augusta, Erika Spencer and her husband J.P. of Windsor, and Zachary Loubier and his significant other, Sierra Harmon of Sidney; great-grandchildren, Lucian and Oliver Sanborn; and several nieces, nephews; and cousins.
At his request, there will be no public visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 5, at 11 a.m., at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Avenue, Augusta. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Road, Augusta.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.
