BENTON – It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Terry A. Blodgett of Benton, on March 16, 2026. He passed with his wife Maureen and children by his side.
Terry was born in Fairfield on Sept. 22, 1950, to Clarence and Christine (Decker) Blodgett of Fairfield Center. Terry attended Lawrence High School in Fairfield and graduated in 1968. After high school he joined the Maine National Guard. Then married the love of his life, Maureen Pamela Bickford of Benton on May 23, 1970, at the Congressional Church in Waterville.
Terry worked at Scott paper Co. in Winslow as a pipefitter for 20 years then transferred to Sappi Paper Co. in Skowhegan where he worked for another 17 years and retired in 2007. He formed lasting relationships with the people he worked with and long after retiring would tell all of the pranks and food fights that went on from time to time. There never seemed to be a dull moment.
In his spare time, he would raise calves and heifers, and you could always find him out in the hay fields in the summer with his brother.
Terry was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Christine Blodgett of Fairfield Center; his son, Todd; brothers Joe, Earland, Brian, and Clarence Jr., sisters Pricilla Garland, Bernice Lovejoy, Carolyn Vining, and Norma Wentworth.
Terry is survived by his wife, Maureen; son, Mark Blodgett of Benton, daughter, Amy McGrath of Londonderry, N.H., and son, Emery Bickford of Hampstead, N.H.; grandchildren Jacob, Tyler, Colby, Jordan, Connor, Finnigan, Hattie, and Poppy. Terry is also survived by brothers Ron, Donald and wife Jean, Steve and wife Ellen, sisters Christine Demo and husband Mark, Janey, and Norma Blodgett.
There will be a small service at the Brown Cemetery in Benton, on July 18 with a Celebration of Life to follow after at the Best Weston in Waterville. The service will be at 2 p.m.
