Hayden Mullins pitched six shutout innings to earn his first victory of the season as the Portland Sea Dogs defeated the Altoona Curve, 5-3, on Sunday in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The Sea Dogs took four out of six games in the teams’ series.
Mullins (1-1) allowed three hits, struck out eight batters and walked one in a 76-pitch effort. Cooper Adams pitched two scoreless innings for his first save.
Max Ferguson, Miguel Bleis and Ronald Rosario had two hits apiece for Portland (8-6).
Mitch Jebb had two of Altoona’s seven hits. Shawn Ross added a home run for Altoona (2-13).
