Want to make an impact on Maine’s U.S. Senate race this year? This is your chance.
The Press Herald, Maine Public Television and NEWS CENTER Maine are hosting a live debate on May 7 for the contestants in the Democratic primary: Gov. Janet Mills, political newcomer Graham Platner and longtime government employee David Costello. All three have said they will attend.
Part of the evening will be devoted to questions from Mainers like you. If you’d like to submit a question for the candidates, please fill out this form. We are asking those interested to record a video of themselves asking a question, and if your query is chosen, we will play the video on debate night.
Please note that video submissions are limited to 20 seconds. (Not comfortable on camera? We’re always up for reader submitted questions in the form of a letter to the editor.)
We’re excited to hear from you!
Comments are not available on this story. Read more about why we allow commenting on some stories and not on others.
We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
