Barry Manilow’s final concert in Portland has been rescheduled to July 3, according to the pop singer’s social media accounts.
Manilow, 82, had been scheduled to play the Cross Insurance Arena on April 19, but that performance was postponed due to doctor’s orders in early April, along with several other shows around the country. In December, a stage-one cancerous tumor was discovered on Manilow’s left lung and he later had surgery to remove it.
Manilow’s Facebook and Instagram accounts include shows in nine cities that have been rescheduled in June, July and August. Other cities where shows are scheduled include: Reading, Pennsylvania; Newark, New Jersey; Albany, New York; Buffalo, New York and Greensboro, North Carolina.
When the April show in Portland was postponed, Cross Insurance Arena announced all tickets sold so far will be honored for the new date. Manilow, who had many big radio hits in the 1970s and ’80s, was about to start a farewell tour in April. The show at Cross Insurance Arena had been billed as “The Last Portland Concert.”
