There’s a very simple answer to the astronomic rising costs in our country for health care: Medicare for all.
Remember when President Clinton proposed the “health care security card”? How long ago was that? And how long we have continued to attempt something like it?
We cannot keep going down this shaky road of subjecting most people to costs they will never ever be able to afford, nor does suggesting everyone eat more meat fix this problem. The administrative costs of providing health insurance far surpass anything even remotely close to the costs of Medicare.
It’s time for our leaders to get brave, buck this stupid, broken system we have and fix it once and for all. This is not about abusing our bodies or not knowing what to eat. It’s about being able to see a doctor when we need to, rather than waiting until it’s too late, and not feeling like we will end up homeless if we do see a doctor because we can’t afford whatever it is they advise of us.
Everyone is required to carry car insurance; why shouldn’t we be required to have health insurance? Make it easy, cover us all with Medicare for all.
