A. Lorraine “Lorry” Letourneau
WINSLOW – “It was a beautiful day the day you were born, my Dear.”
A. Lorraine “Lorry” Letourneau, 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her dearest loved ones, on April 10, 2026. Born on Sept. 9, 1938, in Chester, Pa., she was the beloved daughter of Daniel and Regina Embon.
Lorry graduated from Waterville Senior High School in 1957 and continued her education at Westbrook Junior College, graduating in 1959. On August 10, 1963, she married the love of her life, Fred Letourneau, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and cherished memories.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Mrs. John O. Bain and her nephew, Michael P. Bain. She is survived by her devoted husband Fred and her four children, Scott Letourneau and his wife Karen of Durham, NH, Danielle Kane of Sidney, Maine, Julie Letourneau of Waterville, Maine, and James Letourneau and his wife Jade of Dover, NH. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Katherine Parlin and her husband Chris, Daniel Steinhauser, Lydia Lawrence and her husband Seth, and Emme and Conrad Ayers; as well as her beloved great-grandchildren, Christopher Parlin, Reid Parlin, Jase Parlin, Bohdi Lawrence, and Ozzie Lawrence; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lorry’s greatest accomplishment was raising her four children, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. Her home was always open to anyone in need, and she was a trusted source of advice, warmth, and comfort to all who knew her.
She had a deep love for holidays, delighting in decorating her home for every season and hosting unforgettable gatherings filled with laughter and love. Achieving “Life Master Bridge Player” as well as being an avid quilter, knitter, and needlepointer, Lorry found joy in creativity and companionship, sharing many special moments with her crafting and knitting friends. She cherished her wide circle of friends, including her “Driving Miss Daisy” group, Wednesday crafting ladies, and Saturday knitting folks. Lorry especially treasured time spent on restaurant adventures and getaways with her husband Fred and dearest friends Barbara and Earl Smith. She also enjoyed wintering in Saint Lucia and Guadalupe with her friends Yolande and Pierre Garcin.
Lorry will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her straightforward sass-with royal class, generosity, warmth, and the love she gave so freely to family and friends.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the nurses from Northern Light Hospice, whose expert guidance and support helped us to keep Lorry comfortable. Thank you to Karen and Tina for your support and love.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Notre Dame Church in Waterville on May 5 at 10 a.m., reception to follow.
