Logan LeClair had three hits, drove in four runs and scored three times to lead Monmouth to a 27-0 win over Boothbay in a baseball game shortened to five innings in Monmouth.

Levi Laverdiere and Wade Givens each added three RBI for Monmouth (2-0). 

Boothbay falls to 0-2.

MARANACOOK 7, MADISON 2: Grant Walters capped a tiebreaking rally in the third inning with a two-run single, and the Black Bears opened their season with a win over Bulldogs (0-2) in Readfield.

Maranacook pitchers Grady Hreben, Austin Tibbetts and Caldre Glowa combined on a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts.

Jack Spellman got two of Maranacook’s seven hits. The Black Bears scored three runs in the third inning to grab a 5-2 lead.

SOFTBALL

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 11, CARRABEC 1: Lily Fortin collected three hits and four RBI and pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeout and no walks, leading the Panthers (2-0) over the Cobras in Yarmouth.

Cami Casserly slugged a three-run homer, and Jordan Nash,
Abby Sweeney, Reese Weaver and Aurora Blier all finished with two hits. Nash went over 100 hits for her career.

GIRLS LACROSSE

BRUNSWICK 7, CONY 4: Solveig Ledwick recorded five goals and an assist to lift the Dragons (1-1) past the Rams (0-3) in Brunswick.

Nataleigh Cantrell and Morgan Barnhorst each added a goal, while Brooke Chaput, Siena Small, Mia Haralson and Madison Neault all had an assist for Brunswick. Bella Bates made nine saves. 

Casey Monson scored two goals, while Rylin Miller and Gabriella Vachon each had a goal and an assist for Cony. Avery Maxim made 10 saves. 

BOYS LACROSSE

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 10, GARDINER 4: Gavin Thomas recorded five goals and an assist as the Panthers (2-0) beat the Tigers (1-1) in Yarmouth.

Stephen Connolly added two goals and an assist, while Quinn Barschdorf, Carson Richard and Owen Cheever also scored for NYA. 

Brayden Elliot scored twice, while Luke Whalen had a goal and an assist for Gardiner. Austin Crowley also scored and Logan Cote had an assist.
