This is concerning the request by Central Maine Power for a temporary rate change in July 2026. So far this year, my CMP bill has increased 23% since last year, 2025. Enough is enough.
CMP’s attempt to blindside the ratepayers of Maine with its proposal for a $7 rate increase that would reduce the bill average of $4 per month, instead of by $11 per month, is an absurd ploy to game the system. We rate payers have had enough of sending CMP’s excess profits to a foreign company.
This has to end. And Maine’s adding more mandates to the cost structure, which is basically an added tax, must end as well.
