Forward Shawn Element is returning to the Maine Mariners after spending most of the season with the AHL Milwaukee Admirals.
Element signed an ECHL contract with the Mariners in the offseason and was loaned to Milwaukee in early December. He played eight games with Maine, recording a goal and four assists. He also appeared in five games for the AHL Providence Bruins.
In 31 games with the Admirals, he appeared in 31 regular-season games and three playoff games. Milwaukee was eliminated from the Calder Cup playoffs on Sunday.
A 26-year-old forward, Element has played 244 AHL games in his career.
Element will join the Mariners for Game 3 of the first-round playoff series against the Adirondack Thunder at 7 p.m. Friday. The series is tied 1-1 after Maine won Game 1 in overtime, 2-1, before dropping Game 2, 3-2.
