Maine State Police are investigating the death of a Thomaston man reported missing earlier this month.
Darryl Sanborn, 64, was last seen in Waldoboro on April 5, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a news release Tuesday. Waldoboro police requested assistance from the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit two days later, according to Moss.
Sanborn’s body was found by someone while walking on a dirt road off Wagner Bridge Road in Waldoboro on April 17, Moss said.
His remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy was conducted to positively identify them, Moss said. The cause of death is still pending.
Moss said there is no known danger to the public and no additional information was to be released Tuesday.
