Ronald Poulin
AUGUSTA – Ronald Poulin, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Augusta.
Ronald was born in Waterville on April 1, 1942, the youngest of three children born to Helen and Florian Poulin. He was a graduate of Waterville High School, class of 1960, and proudly served in the United States Army.
Following his military service, Ron bought Bill’s Tire Service in Winslow, with a retread shop in Waterville. He later expanded the company’s retail/service shop, also in Waterville.
Ron was an avid fisherman and golfer. He, along with his wife Carole, spent many seasons playing at the Waterville Country Club with friends.
Ron was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 26 years, Carole Poulin; and his sister, Jean Berard.
He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Kelly Poulin and husband, Pete, Steve Poulin and wife, Chris, and Debbie Myers and husband, Nick. He was a Pepere to his five grandchildren, Nicole Prior and her husband Dave of Readfield, David Poulin and his wife Heather of Mount Vernon, Jennifer Varney and her husband Jon of Readfield, Katherine Myers of Augusta, and Elizabeth Myers of Augusta. He was also a great-Pepere to Addison and Aiden Prior, Evelyn Poulin and Anderson Varney, with another great-granddaughter on the way.
In addition, Ron is survived by his sister, Diane Blicharski, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Augusta for the compassionate and wonderful care shown to Ronald.
A small graveside burial will be held at a later date at St. Francis Cemetery.
Donations may be made in Ron’s memory to the Maine Veterans’ Home, Augusta.
