FARMINGDALE – Laurel Lynn (Marston) Peaslee, 73, of Farmingdale, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on June 23, 1952, in Augusta, to Helen Kopishke and Raymond Marston. Laurel grew up in Farmingdale and graduated from Hall-Dale High School in 1970. She went on to dedicate 25 years of service to the State of Maine, working at the Public Utilities Commission in Augusta.
Laurel had many passions in life, but above all, she cherished time spent with her family. She enjoyed many years vacationing in Florida, where she visited her sister and brought her grandchildren to theme parks, creating lasting memories. She also had a deep love for crafting. Her many talents included sewing, quilting, jewelry making, painting, scrapbooking, and especially card making, which she enjoyed sharing with her sisters.
She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers Donald Marston, Calvin Marston, and Pete Marston, her sister, Norma Swift Shorey; her in-laws, Bob and Phyllis Peaslee; her brothers-in-law Roger and John Peaslee, and her sister-in-law, Nancy Hicks.
Laurel is survived by her loving husband, David Peaslee; her daughter, Mandy and her husband, Jeremy, of Chelsea, her son, David Peaslee Jr. of Farmingdale; her grandchildren, Brandon and his wife, Megan, of Winslow, and Alex of Chelsea; her great-grandchildren, Olive and Arlo; her brothers Ronald Marston and his wife, Debbie, of West Gardiner, David Marston of Albion, and Barry Marston and his wife, Karolyn, of Augusta, her sisters Charlotte Kemp of Monmouth, Shirley Taylor and her husband, Fred, of Farmingdale, and Kathy Trask of Gardiner, and her sisters-in-law, Jeannie and her husband, Mike Weymouth, Sandy Gosselin Davis, Peggy St. Pierre and her partner, Lou Parent, and Debbie Bickford.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of the Critical Care Unit at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta for their compassion, kindness, and exceptional care shown to Laurel and her family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Manchester Lions Club, Club House Road, Manchester, ME 04351.
