Portland Sea Dogs shortstop Franklin Arias was chosen as Eastern League Player of the Month after hitting .375 with eight home runs and 20 RBI over his first 20 games of the season.
Arias led the league in total bases (55) and slugging percentage (.764) in April and was among the leaders in batting average, home runs, hits and RBI. He had 10 multi-hit games and smacked seven home runs in a span of nine games.
