Portland Sea Dogs fans will have to wait one more day to see the Double-A debut of top Boston Red Sox pitching prospect Anthony Eyanson after a game against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats was rained out Saturday at Hadlock Field.
According to the Sea Dogs, Saturday’s game will not be rescheduled.
Eyanson, a third-round pick in last summer’s MLB draft, was promoted to the Sea Dogs last Sunday after dominating hitters in Class A Greenville, posting a 0.44 earned-run average with 34 strikeouts in 20 1/3 innings over his first five professional starts.
Eyanson is now scheduled to pitch in the series finale Sunday at Hadlock Field.
