I used to be a supporter of moderate Sen. Susan Collins. Now I feel she only “moderates” when it is safe. She will not get my vote.
Thanks to Kelly Gilbert’s op-ed in the Sunday, April 26 paper (“I’m a young Maine feminist and I’m voting for Platner”), I feel strongly that the baby boomers (myself included) need to vote with their children and grandchildren’s future as priority. Congress should be better represented by their generations: Gen X and Millennials.
I do have some concerns about Graham Platner. But they may be generational. For example, I’d like to see respect for the office. Does he have a suit and tie? Boomers are a significant voting bloc and we are (mostly) comfortable. And let’s face it, we are on the way out the door! It’s time to put the younger generation in office. Platner will get my vote.
