I am a supporter of Angus King III for governor because of his stance on climate change and how he intends to use renewable energy to decrease the power cost escalation we are seeing in Maine.
Clean energy has proven to be the lowest-cost way to enlarge energy supply, increase reliability and reduce carbon emissions throughout the globe. Unfortunately, key renewable energy projects have been delayed here in Maine, as well as across the country, through a number of avenues. Politically motivated attacks by the federal government, as well as red tape locally, have increased the costs of developing renewable energy projects — costs that are then passed on to the citizens of Maine.
Maine currently has the third fastest utility rate growth in the country. As governor, King III will champion lower power costs, increased reliability and cleaner energy.
