A recent television ad, “The Real Graham Platner,” is funded by Pine Tree Results PAC. This political action committee is funded by out-of-state interests who have spent $2 million, so far, supporting Sen. Susan Collins. The PAC is based in Washington, D.C., not in Maine.
This ad alone tells Maine voters more about Susan Collins and her connection to special interests who have reason to keep her in office. We know about Platner and many of us have chosen him to represent us in the election. It is our responsibility to support and elect a candidate of our choice, based on what the state needs for representation.
Collins’ support is from Washington interests. Mainers should not be fooled. We must know who the voices are behind our candidates and why they are there. This may be our time to take back the election results from outside interests and have someone in office of our own choice.
