Mainers are currently being bombarded by negative ads targeting Graham Platner. The Republican attack machine relies on repetition and our natural negativity bias to make these claims stick.
It is true that Platner has said regrettable things in his past. However, we must ask ourselves: Would we want to be judged solely by what we said on our worst day? Having met him recently, I found a man of integrity who feels passionately about us.
While Sen. Susan Collins supports unchecked presidential powers, Maine continues to struggle with housing, healthcare and climate change. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results. We cannot let big-money PACs dictate our future through fear. It is time to break this cycle and give Graham Platner a chance to lead.
Vote Platner this fall.
