The three teams have held or shared the No. 1 ranking in the Varsity Maine baseball poll occupy the top three spots in this week’s rankings. South Portland has broken out of first-place tie with Oxford Hills and now stands alone at the top. Bangor, the No. 1 team two weeks ago, moves up to No. 2 after defeating Oxford Hills, which is ranked third.

Just outside of the top three are Gorham, which received a first-place vote, Cheverus and Mt. Ararat. The Eagles are the only team to beat Bangor so far this season.

Joining the rankings this week are Ellsworth, Thornton Academy (which was ninth two weeks ago) and Leavitt.

The Varsity Maine baseball poll is based on games played before May 12, 2026. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
