Kennebunk is even more in first place than it was last week. Not much has changed with the Rams; they’re still undefeated (7-0) and the unanimous No. 1 for the second straight week in the Varsity Maine girls lacrosse poll. But the gap between them and No. 2 has grown from 10 points to 24.

How did that happen? Well, the teams below Kennebunk have won big games, but also lost some. For instance, Falmouth, last week’s No. 2, fell to Windham. Windham then lost to Yarmouth. Falmouth and Windham have both dropped a spot in the rankings.

Cheverus, meanwhile, has won five straight games after a season-opening loss to Windham and has jumped from seventh last week to No. 2.

Kennebunk is one of three remaining unbeaten teams remain in the state. The others are Messalonskee (7-0), which is ranked fifth, and No. 7 Maranacook/Winthrop (6-0).

The Varsity Maine girls lacrosse poll is based on games played before May 12, 2026. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
