Benny Montgomery homered off Caleb Bolden with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to cap Hartford’s comeback from a 4-0 deficit as the Yard Goats walked off with a 7-6 win over the Portland Sea Dogs in an Eastern League game Tuesday night in Hartford, Connecticut.
The Sea Dogs jumped out to an early lead when Johanfran Garcia belted a three-run homer in the top of the first and Marvin Alcantara followed two batters later with a solo blast.
Hartford, though, chipped away against Sea Dogs starter Hayden Mullins and eventually tied the game with two runs in the eighth against reliever Erik Rivera.
Mullins struck out eight through five innings, but gave up three runs on five hits and a walk.
Portland’s Will Turner hit his fourth home run of the season, a solo drive that made it 5-3 in the fifth.
