Ray Routhier’s May 7 article, “13 Maine hot dog spots to relish this summer,” was informative and well written. Unfortunately for people who don’t live south or west of Lewiston or along the coast, though, there seemed to be no hot dog spots worth visiting. This is not true.
Courtney’s Hotdogs of Winslow is a very long-time and well-loved hot dog spot that somehow didn’t make this list.
While I understand the geographical and financial limits of reporting in a large state like Maine, this article follows a long tradition of viewing Maine as Southern Maine and the coast (just look at the distribution of locations in the map included with the article).
