I was encouraged to read the May 7 op-ed by Steve Collins, “National Democratic backing may be Baldacci’s undoing.” I am supporting Jordan Wood of Auburn for the 2nd District congressional seat. So, I was very frustrated and angry that a national group of Democrats would give their support and resources to one candidate before the primaries.
I have always been proud that Maine people aren’t conned by slick advertising and superficial words. We have a history of learning about candidates and issues and making our own decisions.
In these difficult times, when most people agree that things just aren’t working, we need younger leaders, fresh ideas and new perspectives. According to a recent poll, 80% of Americans favor term limits for Congress. I want leaders who have integrity — who are smart, honest and hard-working. Please join me in voting for Jordan Wood.
