The trick is to look past labels. Look past the paint and see what’s under the hood. Troy Jackson is a powerhouse candidate for governor. He’s planning two things guaranteed to lift all Mainers up: affordable homes and affordable healthcare.
Jackson is as earnest about justice and renewable energy as Hannah Pingree and Angus King III. Unlike them, Jackson came up the hard way. A logger’s son, and a logger himself, he knows how it feels to have to work hard and still worry about paying for basics. And then, there’s Jackson’s experience with Maine legislators. No candidate for governor has more experience and skill than Jackson at corralling Augusta legislators, and motivating them to do right by Maine.
I was raised to vote by party labels and slogans. I don’t do that now. But if others still do it that way, here’s a good one: Troy Jackson for Maine.
